20 new IPads - Meraki where to start

Hi, we have a Aruba WiFi with Smoothwall as the Firewall. Student/Staff use their active directory username and password to connect to the college WiFi.

We have bought 20 IPads which can be borrowed by the Staff/Students. I am looking to manage it via Meraki Systems Manager and I have already got user credentials to logon to the Meraki Systems Manager.

We also have Apple Volume Purchase Program (VPP).

 

so where do I start ?

 

I guess I need to first connect them to the College WiFi ? Do you all use standard credentials for all the IPads to connect to the WiFi ?

Thanks for the raising the topic @bicky a member of my school's SMT is also keen that we go this route. I have great reservations and believe it all needs some very careful planning so hopefully I'll be able to pick up some useful feedback from the replies you get as well. We are a KS3 special school for boys who have emotional and behavioural difficulties so I have added reservations as to the feasibility and usefulness of iPads in such an environment.

A good MDM solution, AirWatch is a good option, offering excellent geo-fence tracking. We also restrict heavily on the device. It's worth looking at Apple Configurator, we use this as well as cloud based solutions.
