We have a number of these which need replacing I have a choice of a

or a

 

InFocus IN124ST projector 3000 Lumines" - InFocus IN124ST Projector | InFocus

 

what do I go for, been told that InFocus is very budget but the Promethean rebrand but of what ?

Looks like you are changing from a standard throw projector to a short-throw projector. If you don't need to worry about matching the right throw distance you can go for any projector you want.

 

How have you narrowed it down to those two?

 

Also yes you are correct that the promethean projector will be a rebadged version of a specialist projector manufacturer.

Sorry its a sanyo xe40, Ive gone for the InFocus, I just need it asap. But thank you anyway :-)

If this is the one that fits on the Promethean all in one unit - with the integrated boom arm - you are going to need an adapter plate if you want to replace the projector - the infocus tat will not fit.

I would be wary of the PRM-35, being a DLP projector its colours are naff and we have had to replace a few due to teacher complaints.

Also the chip seems to go on them a bit too easily, we have had four that had to be sent away to get replaced to remove the snow effect of duff pixels.

big fan of the Epson EB-420 and you can get mountings from RA technology that will fit the promethean boom arms.

Resurrecting an old thread here - does anyone have a current recommendation for changing an sanyo xe40 on a promethean boom mount system?

RA Technology for replacement bracket depending on which type of system it is, oblong arm or round pole arm RA4.3-PM-100 or RA4.3-PM

I still think the Epson projectors are best, EB-530, bright, good lamp life and replacement lamps are not much.

Think they are releasing next generation of projectors at BETT this month so there could be an even better one out there.

I know other people like the Casio laser projectors, lamp free and less maintenance, but I still like a good old lamp!
