sfarmilo Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Hello, I need to create a jpeg image of all our year ten students of a kind of "App style" card that they can then write targets on. I was wondering if anyone knew a way in photoshop to import their images onto my template and resize them with a script rather than do it manually? Cheers
spadam Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I know Photoshop can batch resize images but I don't know how you would get it to automate the positioning of the images on your template - Possibly some kind of script might do this but beyond my abilities.... As a possibly easier alternative you could maybe do this with a Word mail-merge or an Access report - depending how many pupils you have and what your skills are like it might be quicker to do it manually though....
featured_spectre Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Batch resizing can only be done if all the images are of uniform dimensions, otherwise you ruin the integrity of the image.
sfarmilo Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 Images are all the same size apart from about 7 because they're the student photographs taken from SIMs. What they want doing is to have the Student photo at the top of the design, to do this it would be nice if I could have a script to import, resize and place the image in the correct place rather than have to do it manually for each student...
featured_spectre Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 You could in theory do the following Resize the images in bulk (using photoshop batch) and ensure they are all the same size. Then create a photoshop batch to do the image on the page design, and set the batch to do it for a folder. Will take a while, to run through, but probably the best way forward.
NikChillin Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 You can do it in Publisher, I did something similar with record cards.
sfarmilo Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 Think what I'm going to do is pull a report from SIMs then just use a mail merge
