Windows 8.1 not in store

Hi,

 

Am I missing something? I want to update from Win8 to 8.1 but every time I look in the Windows Store its not there. I have waited and done the checks Microsoft suggest but its just not there!

Are you running Enterprise edition? If so you wont see it. If not make sure you have KB2871389 installed.

If I remember right, it won't show up if you search for it but it is on the Store homepage...

What version you running? There's lots of versions of Win8 that doesn't support updating to 8.1 via store, e.g. Enterprise, MSDN, Volume blahblah

As @FN-GM says you should ensure you have all the windows updates before it shows on the windows store.

Even the driver and firmware updates if it is a tablet, mine did not seem to see it before a firmware upgrade which gave it the right bios level seemingly required to make it show up

I am running Windows 8 Pro. I have installed KB2871389 and updated all my drivers but still nothing. Sounds like a firmware update is next to try, cheers. So annoying!

Oh I had this a machine that had Win 8 pre-installed. Followed all the advice but never showed up and it seems a lot of other people experience this.

I ended up having to install our volume version of 8.1 which was irritating.

 

Thank goodness it looks like MS are going back to Windows Updates for this kind of thing, making it Store only was beyond dumb.
