VMware clients stops responding

Hi guys

 

Every couple of months or so our data store server stops responding to network traffic. It is a virtual machine, we use vmware 5.5.0. The server will not respond to any networking connections until it is restarted via vsphere client. I was just wondering if anyone else has come across this problem as there are no errors in any log.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

We have been experiencing all kinds of problems with network cards with 5.5. In the release notes for update 1, VMWare mention that they have addressed a few network card issues in version 5.5. Might be worth upgrading to 5.5 Update1. Which network cards are you running? VMWare's current suggestion is to have all VMs running VMXNET3 cards.
