novastorm Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Has any one else came across this problem before? Problem Dual Display Mode on Laptop On some laptops, the video display circuits are unable to output a strong enough signal to the external video port if the internal display is also on. so if you switch to projector only then this can solve the problem. any one else ever had this?
laserblazer Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Not something I have come across. How long is your external cable and what laptop is it?
nikaso Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 If they have an option to output to a second monitor they should definitely be able to show two displays at once. Like lazer says, I'd check the cable and I'd also add check the resolution, if you are trying to output a signal to a device with a resolution that's out of range it will black screen.
difinity Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I've seen if the laptop is playing a video then it is unable to switch to the external monitor. Check the two mounting screws that hold the video cable are screwed in also, so the video cable is attached tightly.
witch Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Yes, I have There is a setting in the video program that helps - hardware acceleration (off the top of my head? - not in the right school to look it up) 1
