Does any school out there use any Kiosk Systems to help promote their school?

 

We are looking into the possibility of buying a kiosk station with the idea of having information about the school and departments on this kiosk.

 

Users would then be albel to see small movies etc of what happens in the departments.

 

Can anyone offer any help or advice on this subject?

Alternatively, just stick an old PC running Firefox as the shell and create a few web pages - DT dept should be able to make a nice box to put it in. Touchscreens can be pricey though.

The easiest option will probably be to use some sort of touch-screen, running a web browser in fullscreen mode. Then create a simple set of web pages linked with big icons/buttons that demonstrate the sort of things you want. This also means people could access it from outside via your website.

Agree with the idea of touch screens, web browser setups.

 

Rather than a kiosk, you could wall mount a touch screen TFT or 2 on the reception wall. Have the PCs in the office. Would look rather smart.

And if you want to put it on your internet site, use a specific css sheet for the kiosk to enlarge the fonts and use different menu buttons
