Deploying Adobe X Pro - Won't activate.

Morning All,

 

Hoping someone has some experience deploying Adobe Acrobat Pro.

 

Here are the steps I've taken so far however when I deploy it it doesn't activate and instead runs in trial mode.

 

1) Downloaded the AAMEE

2) Run the AAMEE and pointed it to my CS6 Installation Media

3) Put in the key and told it I only want to install Adobe Pro

4) Finished it off and it ran successfully. It created the deployment folder and noticed it had created the Adobe Pro msi in the exceptions folder as expected.

5) Pushed out the MSI using the following command:

 

msiexec.exe /i AcroPro.msi EULA_ACCEPT=NO REGISTRATION_SUPPRESS=YES SUITEMODE=1 INSTALLLEVEL=101 AS_DISABLE_LEGACY_COLOR=1 IGNOREAAM=1 TRANSFORMS=en_GB.mst /qn

 

6) It installs perfectly fine however when I run it it still asks for the activation key!

I had a similar problem a while ago and found that the code for CS6 would not activate just Acrobat. If other products from CS6 where installed, and one of them run once, then Acrobat would be activated. But if just Acrobat was installed then it wouldn't activate. Spoke with our reseller and he sent me a code for Acrobat activation.

Using AAMEE have you tried creating the Serialization File and running that on the machine post MSI deployment. This may help get around the activation process.

Tried that but getting "code returned 25"

According to Adobe that means:

 

"25 - If no product is installed on the target machine or enigma data of serial number could

not be decoded"

i have spent alot of time swearing at adobe activation...

in the end after much modding of the SLS store folder and the like used an aternative tool for activation which is the

Adobe Provisioning Toolkit enterprise which seems to work much better than AMEE tools

I had a very similar (if not the exact same) issue to you a few years ago.

 

Acrobat X Pro came with our CS5 Master collection but installing acrobat wouldn't activate. When I spoke to adobe they told me I needed deploy atleast one of the core CS programs with it. I never tried as only 2 people needed pro so I did a manual install for them

other option would be to use the adobe MSI custom tool and embed the options into the MSI and then activate

if your supressing the registration you will need to activate after the install.

As someone earlier mentioned...

 

It appears that you can't install Acrobat on it's own. You also need to have at least one of the other CS6 programs installed otherwise it won't activate. No idea why this is the case but it's frustrating as hell but seem to have fixed it now. Thanks for your help.

Sam, try asking you reseller for a Acrobat code, then you can create a Acrobat only package.
