CommodoreS Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I have a server with 7 Virtual Machines running on it. What is the best way to back this up? Is it possible to back up a server with running virtual machines on it (or do they need to be stopped?) Or should each virtual machine server be performing its own backup. At the moment just some shared files are being backed up to a external file server, which makes me wary if a virtual server was to fail or the server which hosts all the virtual servers was to fail.

Would that still work as I can only see references saying it is for VMware and Hyper-V. Also does anyone have any idea of Pricing, as I could not easily find any prices advertised for it?

plexer Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 The actual hypervisor you are managing with MSCVMM is still Hyper-V though so any product that supports it will work. Ben
zag Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Veeam is a no brainer for virtual backup, we use it for all our hyper-v hosts.
