wingmanatl Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Some users are experiencing SIMS update launch failure when using SIMS. This is the image of the error message. Please advise.
vikpaw Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Not sure about the citrix part, but that message usually occurs after you update the server side. The clients on next run, realise this and try to run it locally. If it can't, usually because the user doesn't have permissions over the local folders, then you can that message. Running it as admin or giving them permissions would sort it.
creese Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Failing the above, rename SIMS .Net folder and reinstall the client.
Rawns Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I've found it's usually an odd permissions issue to the SIMS .net folder where some files cannot be updated due to read only access. Or where for some reason, SIMS is open and hidden in the 'background'.
Giblets2 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 More likely it's that the SIMS.INI in the windows folder of the client is an old one. Find a working client and copy the sims.ini from the same folder (rename the old one .old first obviously). Then it should run SOLUS and upgrade your client when you run SIMS.
