Youtube Looping/Black screen

Been having a few issues with Youtube over the past month on a large number of PC's. Started around mid December where basically the video loads and you can see 2/3 seconds of playtime then it loops back to the start eventually showing An error has occurred, please try again later. We have Win 7 SP1 running IE9 and the latest Flash Player. Tried the Adobe uninstall of Flash and reinstalled but no joy, also cleared the cache to no avail.

 

I then tried installing IE10 and Youtube would play with the HTML 5 player, at this point I installed Flash Player again but the problem returned! Not really sure what else to do beyond sticking another browser on, any suggestions?

We had the same thing, and it came down to the googlevideo.com being blocked by the Local Authority proxy on some of our IP ranges. If you are on a proxy, send them an email, or if you have your own, add it to the allow list for the feed that is needed.

 

The other problem that has caused that for us this year was a poor connection. Is it linked to just one switch/IP range or is it across the site and linked to all the IP ranges?

YouTube changed the sites required to view the videos. We run our own filtering, so found it easy to change, however you need to try and get these sites added to the safe list:

googlevideo.com/videoplayback

youtube-nocookie.com

Sounds crazy but plugging in a set of headphones worked! I'll add the listed sites so thanks guys but it seems crazy that the video stops playing if I remove the headphones then works perfectly if they are in.

We had this problem here, and it turned out that the Audio drivers were corrupt on the computers that were erroring. We updated the drivers and all went swimmingly.

Speakers/headphones or you can push out a reg key to disable audio detection.
