6Foot2 Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I use remote desktop to connect to our servers. It has been working well until Monday of this week. I find now that the mouse will not go below about 1/4 above the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. This is happening for only one of the server connections. I have restarted the server and my workstation to no avail. What else can I do? Servers: Windows server 2003 SP1 Workstation: Windows XP Pro: SP2 Remote Desktop version: 5.2.3790.0

Lee_K_81 Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 try adjusting the resolution in the remote desktop settings. Change it to something then change it back. I've had issues with not being able to click start on sessions because it hasnt detected the resolution correctly.

The system does not allow the upgrade [see picture] and I can't find where to uninstall the current version before installing the new one [looked in Add or Remove Programs and Add/Remove Windows Components] try adjusting the resolution in the remote desktop settings. Change it to something then change it back. I've had issues with not being able to click start on sessions because it hasnt detected the resolution correctly. Adjusting the screen res does not do it either. Just tried it. :-(

I removed the tree view and saved the changes, connected to the problematic server and the mouse was responding properly. I closed down Remote Desktop saving the changes, went back in again and checked the view/connection. Still working OK. Restore the views of the other servers. Check connections. All OK. Close down again, saving changes and go back in again and do another round of checks. All OK. But what caused it in the first place. I haven't made any changes to this station in about a week!
