Rackenford Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 When using my laptop on domain, everything is tickety-boo. Go home and log in and no desktop background, no shortcuts working on taskbar or on Start Menu. And MS Outlook will not open. Any ideas on what I have wrong with roaming profiles? All laptops are the same so it is not a CSC issue (I think). Windows XP has none of these issues. Only my W7 machines. As I am entirely phasing out XP, I need a solution. Any ideas? Anyone? Did not set up this domain environment but, Folder redirection and roaming profiles look in place. Thanks in advance.
Chuckster Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Do you have shortcuts redirected to a share? If so, you will want to enable under sharing "All files and programs that users open from the share will be automatically made available offline" Failing that, redirecting the shortcuts to the local drive never fails. 1
Rackenford Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 Hey Chuckster Appreciate the response. Sooo, imagine you are holding a small child by the hand and leading the way. Is all what you are saying in GP? There are a lot of policies here and some seem to have been created with very little imagination to what the do. Is there a way I can search for a change in folder redirection or do I just need to trawl through. Also, how do I redirect the shortcuts to the local drive? Thank you sir!
