So This weekend I decided to randomly get up and go get an Xbox One, Last one in store as well :)

I decided to get Battlefield 4 with it (And it's amazing)

So this post was really to ask if anyone else out there has gone and got one of these yet?

If so, what games have you got? and what would you recommend?

Since having my job offer, my mum went and got one as an early christmas present for me, with BF4, Fifa 14, an extra controller and a charging dock.

This was in place of the money she was going to give me to pay off the HMRC

Yes I was gunna go for that pack deal but decided against it.

Did you play FIFA 14 on the 360? is there much difference?

This is my xmas and birthday present to myself, but putting off buying until I get a new job and secure money... £450 quid (which I hope to get discount in the sales!) is a lot of shopping weeks for me!

There is a lot more control on the xb1. Players react quicker, they have more control of curve from shots etc. Its as if you went from fifa 13 to fifa 14 (if that makes sense)

I dont often play fifa except with my brother, and I didnt choose to have it, but gift horses and mouths...

Ooooo, now that's interesting, I may see if one of my friends gets it and have a tinker on it before getting it as it's quite expensive!!

Forza 5 is epic (especially in online 16 player races). Definitely a must buy if you have an Xbone IMO.

I was also thinking about this as I'm a keen driving game fan, just a shame GT is only on PS :-/

FIFA 14 online gets reeeaaallly frustrating. Everyone plays as Real Madrid and pumps the ball long for Ronaldo, He is faster and stronger than anyone else and scores from anywhere. Generally a great game though :)

Well I got Deadraising for Christmas and within a week I'd finished it haha, it is such an amazing game with a good story to follow, never played it online like which I think I may venture but my brand new TV has just broke and have to wait a week to get it fixed, so I don't want to play any of my new games until I get that back really

I got COD: Ghosts for Xmas and I'm really enjoying it. I wasn't planning on getting it as the reviews were kind of mixed but I've actually found myself playing more COD than battlefield 4 surprisingly. I like the variety in the multiplayer modes like hunted and infected. Reminds me of a slightly updated version of Counterstrike. My main criticisms are that the single player campaign is fairly dull and the graphics (textures specifically) don't look all that great for a supposedly next gen system. Seems like a common complaint on the PC version too so I don't think it's the fault of the Xbox1.

Had a XB1 with FIFA 14 and COD Ghosts. Not played FIFA yet but finished the campaign on COS Ghost. Thought the campaign was rather easy and only took 4 1/2 hours. Online is much better and much harder. I have played all the COD games on Xbox 360 but the online gaming on XB1 is much tougher. I am thinking that a lot of top end games purchased the XB1 and this makes playing harder at the mo.

Yes I have COD Ghosts for the 360 and Battlefield for the XBox1 and personally I prefer Battlefield due to it's open maps (not too keen on too close combat) always have been more of a Battlefield kinda guy, don't get me wrong, Ghosts is really good, I just like Battlefield more :)

So, how long before the first price drop I wonder?

As much as I'd like one, with kids it's simply not an option at the moment, but once the price has come down a tad then I will give it serious consideration, although it would have to be around the £300 mark.

It wont drop below £200 until the NEXT xbox is coming out, because of the Kinect being a requirement (though, since I set mine up, I unplugged it and not had it on since). I dont use voice commands, I dont use the record feature, I just play games and watch TV.

Microsoft and Sony don't need to drop the price of their new consoles since they are selling every single console they make (unlike Nintendo :p ).

At most, you'll probably only see £20 or £30 knocked off the price. Definitely not £100's.

Not £100 yet, but they will. Once they gain momentum with game sales they can afford to.

At the moment the high price is down to the initial demand and the fact that games sales will be slower due to lack of games and (relatively) low levels of console ownership.

Once the console has reached sales levels in the ten/twenty million+ level then they will probably then drop price to encourage those who couldn't afford to be early adopters and especially when they revise the chassis in 24 months or so (as they will) there will be plenty of Mk 1's going at a reduced rate.

This is the time period I'm looking at.

I personally think the first price drop won't be until end of this year (Christmas) or beginning of next year, but it will only be about £30-£50.

They'll make the next gen XB1 by the time it goes down atleast £100.

I love using my Kinect, walk in the room and tell it to turn on, half the time, the controller is on next to me and I'm still talking to it (which my house mate thinks is a bit weird), it's just so easy and the face recognition is an excellent feature I think

Microsoft probably will release a revised Xbox One in order to reduce their own production costs, but with the Xbox 360, they didn't release the 'S' model until four and a half years after the original. If EA is correct, the XB1 and PS4 will have a much shorter lifespan so surely there will be less incentive to significantly discount the consoles?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360_technical_specifications#List_of_revisions

^ The Xbox 360 had a lot of revisions due to the GPU problems and the first version lacked an HDMI port. I don't think we will see as many this time. :)

I reckon Microsoft will cut the price down to £350 in order to match the PS4 by Xmas next year. I think it's likely you'll have to wait another 2 years before you see any significant price cuts to either console below that figure though. They might start bundling free games with the systems though.

Dont tell the Game staff that, they have hundreds of xboxone sitting around they were trying to flog me at the weekend.
