Sirbendy Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 I use DBAN if requested to (Heads home PC etc), other than that..we play football with them down the stairs, or the "lob it out of the window" game.
Midget Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 In my place we have a bulk load done every few months and we just use a drill to make a hole through the lid and platters into the chassis. Desktop HDDs just gain a hole, but laptop HDDs shatter. Not a lot of fun after a while so its given to the newest starters.
sidewinder Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I know I replied to this already but seriously what is the point of smashing them up? What a waste We just do a basic wipe and leave them in the PC's, that way when we donate the PCs to a local primary school or something they can actually use them! There is nothing sensitive on local hard drives, the chances of anything being recovered are so minute
chrbb Posted November 29, 2007 Author Posted November 29, 2007 My hard drives to be disposed of are from those old pcs that have been donated to local primary schools! No one would want the computers these are from.
