2012 R2 Standard

Hi all,

 

I've built a new server with a new domain, What is the easiest way to transfer everything from the old 2008 R2 servers and domain to the new 2012 Servers new domain ?

Two ways really - to add a new 2012 R2 server to the old domain, clean it up as you see fit, and everything will be there ready, or you can migrate across using something like the ADMT - Download Active Directory Migration Tool version 3.2 from Official Microsoft Download Centre

Thanks if I run that tool now, am I going to loose everything on 2008 ? IE does it migrate and leave everything or does it Migrate and move evreything ?

It appears that when migrating between forests, objects are preserved in the source.
