Multiple Displays Question

Hi

I've just purchased a graphics card that has DVI and VGA built in. (I'm just using the vga).

 

When I try to set up the 2nd display nothing appears on screen - by the looks of it, it wants to use the dvi input too.

 

Is there a way to tell Windows 7 that I'd like to use vga from graphics card on one monitor and VGA from on-board on 2nd monitor?

More than likely not. Most motherboards disable on-board graphics when you plug in a graphics card in my experience now.

 

Is the DVI out DVI-D or DVI-I? If DVI-I, you can use a DVI-VGA adapter which will solve the issue of having 2 screens.

I'm afraid current motherboards will always disable on board graphics once a graphics card is plugged in (from past experience).

 

A DVI-VGA adapter will resolve this.
