Has anyone here got the early access version of this? My brother and brother-in-law have it (noticed they both bought it, was the first I heard of it) and must say, it looks like it could be a great laugh!

Think Day Z meets Minecraft:

EDIT: I can't access Steam at work, but if you watch the video there it tells you more about future plans and shows off a bit of the physics - unlike Minecraft, blocks have mass and strength so building things like bridges means you have to build supporting structures so that it can take it's own weight plus the weight of any people/vehicles that cross it. Seems like a really cool idea :)

INCOMING CASTLE! OUTGOING ZOMBIES!

I'm tempted, apart from the cost on Steam, i'm starting to dislike the current trend of paying to beta test a game..

I know what you're saying but to be fair, you do get a discount on full release price (plus of course you get the full release version when it's ready). On free betas you very rarely get a free copy of the released game. I look at it more as a discount pre-order and access to the beta as a bonus, rather than paying to play a beta. It hurts less forking out the cash that way! :)

Steam sale soon. You could hold out in hope that it gets a discount.

Finger's crossed!

I've played, ran a server on there for a day or two and can't say I was really blown away.. this was a few months ago though.

Was rather fun being able to take the floor out from below the zombies, but other than that, it didn't really grab me as being anything special.

I watched the video at lunch time, it needs to be proper survival style. Make it a massive map (say size of london), dense areas, rural areas, country side, and everything you would expect to see. Plus factor in animations and the like for proper removal of items without notifying zombies around or whatever.

No guns laying around everywhere. Make your own weaponry (flint axe or whatever). Then I would be happy to play. Make it true survivalism style.

I played it for a couple of days at Christmas but like DMcGuigan above but wasn't amazed. It's still very clunky and didn't really do it for me. At least not yet.

I'm starting to fall out with paid beta access. I understand that you're likely paying less than the release amount, and I understand that you may get bugs, lose progress (in the case of Starbound for example) and I'm totally okay with that.. My paid-beta list, I believe there are more that I can't think of off the top of my head, though..

Minecraft: Always a good'n

All Points Bulletin: Loved it until it got infested with hackers.

Starbound: Thoroughly impressed with it

Rust: Enjoyed it until it got infested with hackers.

As I hear more and more complaints about companies having terrible attitudes towards their beta testers, or 'beta' being more like 'alpha', or companies not really focussing on the game as much as they should (likely because people are already buying it) it just makes me more and more reluctant to enter paid betas.

As for this game specifically, too many people are rushing trying to enter the survival market without properly thinking it through. If 7DTD drops to <£10 in the sales, I'd consider getting it. But we'll see.

Well, i'm loving it at the moment. The thought of a horde of zombies able to break a few pillars on a house and bring the whole thing down is exciting. Not to mention having to constantly find water, food, ammunation and a safe house. Trust me, at the moment, nowhere is safe.

Me and my brother holed up in a 2 storey house in the attic. The number of zombies that rush us, is insane.

P.s. Never.... enter..... a.... town.... at..... night........... *shivers*
