sippo Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Just registered for the south west event next August. Will be on the scrounge for donations for either Help for Heroes or the Special Care Baby Unit at the hospital in Swindon. It's going to be hard...
featured_spectre Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 A friend of mine did this earlier this year. He snapped his ankle and carried on. Had to give up eventually but he raised around £3000 for it.
sippo Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 That fills me with confidence. No sponsorship page setup yet as you have to ask permission if you want to raise money for a hospital...
sippo Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 Any donations would be appreciated. Virgin Money Giving | Fundraising | Tough Mudder Fudders's fundraising page
jdoyle Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Good luck with this. Did the Commonweal 5mile this weekend; thought that was hard enough.
fairm010 Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Our head did the tough mudder a while ago.. He was in pain on Monday!
sippo Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 Thankyou for this very kind donation! That was very kind of you!
sippo Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 Interesting read How Tough Mudder became a phenomenon - Telegraph *Any excuse for a bump! Last few days of term so must maybe off for the summer...
sippo Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 One last push for donations. No matter what size it's all appreciated. Would love to make it to £1k. I am so unprepared for Saturday!
sippo Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 All completed in just over three hours. Could easily do it in 2 and a half but we had a 'slow' member in our team. But that's the point, it's not a race it's a team challenge. Absolutely loved it. Completed every obstacle apart from the monkey bars. That was hard!! My favourite was article enema. Many thanks to everyone who kindly donated. 1
sippo Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 Just signed up for TM no2 in Winchester in Oct. I have caught the 'bug'...
sippo Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 Holy thread revival batman, but bbc2 has a program about about Tough Mudder tonight at 21.30. I'm onto no 4 in August. 1
jdoyle Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 caught a bit of the programme. May have to give TM a go at some point.
sippo Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 The program was awful and didn't show what tough mudder is like. The two idiots that were racing defeats the whole object of the event. There's loads of go pro footage on youtube to show what its really like.
jdoyle Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 didn't like the competitors highlighted (the ex-squaddie with the umbilical cord still attached, the guy who could swim the Channel but it wouldn't be challenging enough, the Dad/Son combo with issues) but the mud and obstacles were appealing ;-) Did the Monster at Malmesbury last year but the TM course on display looked far more demanding. I have Paras10 in mind once it's on in Aldershot again but it's not quite the same challenge as the TM.
