[sims] SIMS.NET Bulk Change "House" field.

Hey.

 

The school I work for is looking to do more with "houses" and they want to add which student is in which house to the "house" field in the registration section of the student details in sims but neither me or the data manager can find an easy way to do this in bulk for exisiting students.

 

Any ideas?

If you go in to "Focus > School > Pastoral Structure > Current Structure", expand the "House" branch then right click on any house and select "Members" you'll get a list of every student in the school and columns for each house, you then simply put a tick in the right column for each student.

Unfortunately, unless you're populating an aspect (which you can upload from a CSV) the only fileds with bulk update routines are in the "Routines > Student > Bulk Update" screen and House isn't one of them.

 

You can sort by reg in that route I told you about, so at least if it's as simple as reg range to house you haven't got to be too careful about reading every single student name. If it's not that simple, you have my sympathy!

 

Plenty of coffee and a good CD will get you through it
