Lol. Their splash page even has HTML validation errors Does not bode well for the disillusioned people who think it's possible to "build websites in under 5 minutes"

it looks OK for what type of sites you expect to get from a web browser, obviously you won't get the same results as you would from dreamweaver etc. It isn't a patch on the Edugeek Joomla Package. But it does look OK for users who don't have much knowledge of HTML who want there own site.

Lol what is it with these types of websites? They all look the same for some reason. Click on any of the 'sponsered links' on a google search and most of them look the same as the above advertised website.

 

I think it must be the lack of information (except for a few uninformative points such as 'we are the best') and determination to get you to sign up for something (like the great big arrow pointing towards the form).

 

I suspect the person who signed up to advertise this didn't quite realise the nature of this forum. Or they did, but just wanted to SEO their site.

 

I think the mods should remove it.

The site does not target professional web designers. Heck,

who would do that?

 

This is obviously not the right forum to promote something

similar as Site Rubix.

 

Site Rubix will be there for people struggling to create websites.

OR also for professional internet marketers who want to set up

complete marketing campaigns. That's why Carson and Kyle

claim that it will save you time.

 

I understand your concern. As a professional web designer you

want people to ask for your services. And there is nothing wrong

with that...but why is it wrong to offer a solution to people's

problems? It simply isn't.

 

Internet marketers should be there to help people by offering

solutions to groups of people who have a common problem, such

as ...not being able to create a good looking website.

 

OR internet marketers who lose time by struggling to create a

good marketing campaign with the appropriate landing pages...

One of the things wrong with it is that the front page doesn't even meet W3C standards - I shudder to think what the state of production websites based on SiteRubix will be like.

There are a number of problems with the original post.

 

Please remember that this is a forum for IT professionals who work in education. They tend to be Network Managers, Technicians, SysAdmins ... and yes, some of them do work on websites at various levels.

 

There are a variety of CMS out there. Some are free, some are commercial. However, we have a site policy that companies should not just become members to sell their wares and gain free advertising. Recommendations from people using the system in schools is good, paying for the privilege of advertising is good to as it helps fund the site and keep it alive.

 

The general membership have no issues with looking at different CMS that are out their but this has not been the way to do it really.
