featured_spectre Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Those that know my history with sporting bets, know I am pretty much on the money 95% of the time. I am putting it out now, this is my group stage predictions. Group stage winners Group A - Brazil, Cameroon (on GD) Group B - Spain, Netherlands Group C - Greece, Japan (on GD) Group D - Italy, Uruguay (on GD) Group E - France, Honduras (on GD) Group F - Argentina, Nigeria Group G - Germany, Portugal Group H - Belgium, Russia Group of 16 winners Then Brazil, Spain, Italy, Uruguay, France, Argentina, Germany, Portugal. Quarter final winners Then Spain, Italy, Argentina, Germany Semi final winners Then Spain, Germany Final winners Germany
Sunnyknight Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 England are out at the group stage. Germany / Spain to win it.
rickjames Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Italy are quite beatable really. Depends who we have up front who's fit at the time, hopefully Sturridge/Rooney. But yeah, here's to mediocrity!
featured_spectre Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 Italy has the advantage that they play and train in higher temperatures than we do. Italy play in temps between 15-40C...England play in temps 0-25C. Big difference. Temps in Brazil are expecting to hit the temps that Italy play in, so therefore, they have the advantage. Same goes for Uruguay and Costa Rica.
JHLEHS Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Ye of little Faith, get behind the English boys! I think we will get past the group stage!
featured_spectre Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 Form, temperatures, and line up of squads tells me otherwise.
JHLEHS Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Very good point indeed, we will see. What time is the italy match on anyway in the UK?
rickjames Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 The Italian's are quite beatable in group games, they were alright during the Euro's and the last World Cup but nothing spectacular. Drawing with New Zealand springs to mind. First XI will be something like Hart/Walker/Jagielka/Cahill/Cole/Wilshere/Gerrard/Walcott/Townsend/Rooney/Sturridge . Could be worse.
rickjames Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Italy game has been shifted from 2am Saturday to 11pm Friday.
featured_spectre Posted December 9, 2013 Author Posted December 9, 2013 Brazil are out in quarter finals...not group of 16. My thoughts anyway
