Active Storage - ActiveRAID Silence Alarm

Anyone have an ActiveRAID that has had a failure.

 

We have a physical hard drive that is perfectly healthy but 'In Conflict', Active Viewer reports that the RAID is degraded and the drive is In Conflict however there doesn't seem to be a way to rectify this.

Active Admin just seems to want to set up a new ActiveRAID device but not edit or make changes to an existing ActiveRAID.

A very loud and annoying alarm has been sounding with no obvious way of resetting, what are my options? Is there a web interface?

 

With Active Storage as a company being in a state of flux, I have had no joy with tech support and no idea if the hardware warranty is still valid.

Did you get this sorted? We have experienced the same over the past few days and were advised to run a couple of ActiveRaid commands via Terminal - worked a treat!

We solved the problem with a few Terminal commands as mentioned by you.

 

The Raid was Degraded and all that had to be done was run

MacBook-Pro:~ admin$ /Users/admin/Desktop/activeadmin -d drive destroy

where n = the drive number that is in conflict

 

Once the command is run the RAID automatically started to rebuild

Yep, exactly the same as us. We will need to replace one of the drives today and have been advised to do the exactly the same for the new drive. Glad you got it sorted!

Hi- Saw your listing about rebuilding a Activestorage RAID- I have replaced a drive too- and tried you command line directions, but not working. I am not a command line person- so could you let me know for the , where n represents the drive, are you just putting the number or it's designation? Mine is listed as HD 3, so do I place <3>, or , or ?

 

I tried admin$ /Users/admin/Desktop/activeadmin -d <10.1.1.159> drive destroy ,

 

and when I hit the enter key it came back with: -bash: syntax error near unexpected token '<'

 

Would appreciate your help!

Hi Mark,

 

You don't need the <> and just enter the number of the drive in question, in your case 3

 

/Users/admin/Desktop/activeadmin -d 10.1.1.159 drive destroy 3 then hit return

Not working. Probably because I run the Active Admin and Active Viewer from my iMac- not the server directly attached to the RAID. And the server directly attached to the RAID isn't an intel mac- which is why I run the iMac. Terminal comes back with "

No such file or directory."

Itsha and Monkey123- I talked with a tech support person from one of our vendors- he reminded me I needed to download the cli activeadmin file to my desktop- your command lines worked great! Thank you very much!

I can also confirm that I did receive a response from a question I asked at the Active Storage Support Page, It appears that the company are still in existance in some form or another.

Can anyone tell me which command line to run to silence the raid for a failed controller? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
