  1. Morning, We have 100 odd iPads in school which we manage using a combination of Apple Configurator and Meraki. Students have started to program alarms to go off throughout the day and are leaving unsavoury notes on the devices. Anyone know of a way to block this? Driving us mad!!! Thanks Simon
  2. Hi, We've got around 100 iMacs/Macbooks in school and need to replace our very old Xserve and RAID. Thinking of buying a high spec mac mini with thunderbolt 2 storage. Can anyone think of any issues (apart from the drive not being RAID)? The Mac network is not used extensively so it will very rarely take a battering. Interested to know your thoughts. Thanks Simon
  3. Doesn't look like it, unless you're prepared to take them apart.
  4. Hi, We have 20 0f these that we no longer require. All in working order but need new batteries (fine for mains connection). Have the usual school marks etc but are generally in good condition. Would not be able to supply them with an OS, would wipe in advance. Spec is as follows: Acer Aspire One ZG5 specs - Engadget We have another 60 netbooks that we may be looking to sell in the coming weeks. PM me in interested? Thanks Simon
  5. Morning, Just wondering what you have bought recently and would recommend? Need to order a large number of devices for a new school and always happy to go for something tried and tested. Have heard good things about the Yoga 2s.... Many thanks Simon
  6. Hi all, Just wondering what you would choose if you were in this situation? We're opening a brand new school and are very lucky to be able to start from scratch. Server/wireless wise we're all sorted, however we are currently in disagreement as to the best way forward for staff and students. Staff will have a device allocated to them and will be required to use it in their classroom, any other classroom assigned to them, and away from the school building. Students will, in most cases, be required to use portable devices - both in classrooms and open learning spaces. Would be really interested to learn what devices you have recently implemented and how you have found them? Cheers S
  7. Thanks both. Just to clarify we have Macbooks already set up with OS X but its the process of applying a Windows image as a second operating system that I'm hoping is possible through SCCM?
  8. Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows if this is possible? We're looking at dual-booting our school Macbooks with Windows 7 and wondering if we can use our existing SCCM deployment procedure to do this? Any information would be great! Many thanks Simon
  9. Hi Mark, You don't need the <> and just enter the number of the drive in question, in your case 3 /Users/admin/Desktop/activeadmin -d 10.1.1.159 drive destroy 3 then hit return Simon
  10. Yep, exactly the same as us. We will need to replace one of the drives today and have been advised to do the exactly the same for the new drive. Glad you got it sorted!
  11. Did you get this sorted? We have experienced the same over the past few days and were advised to run a couple of ActiveRaid commands via Terminal - worked a treat!
  12. Ooo, looks like it could work for us. I will download and have a bit of a play..... Cheers
  13. Oh, they wouldn't give me that information would they - would be far too logical! When I see the lesson objective things will become clearer. Just thought I'd look at possible scenarios in advance....
  14. Chaps, We need students to be able to access a Win 7 'control panel' for one of their modules. We can't give access to this for obvious reasons so could do with a virtual desktop to mess about with. Anyone know of anything online that could provide this? Or any other way of giving the students this experience without mountains of technical work to facilitate? Cheers Simon
