TheScarfedOne Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 No, Discover is a separate installer update after doing the main sims install. 1
MrWu Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Thank you, So should a Discover Update (For SOLUS 3.5 or below) be a downloadable option? Should I check with Capita? Edited January 9, 2014 by MrWu
TheScarfedOne Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Yes, there is a separate discover autumn 2013 update available either from your la or supportnet
zag Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Right, full steam ahead for tomorrow: Just a Sanity check (ref attached Screen Shot) 1) I am on Summer V2 at the moment, I just need to deploy Autumn 2 and it should do the rest (Discover for example) 2) I don't need to deploy SOLUS 3.6 yet (I am on SOLUS 3.5 works ok and I'm using SQL 2008 R2) 3) InTouch I update manually afterwards Capita apparently said some sites had excessive memory usage after Autumn 2 update that stops inTouch working...we shall see. Incidiently do you guys do a backup of SIMS, Discover DB via SQL management Studio before an update? I used to also do snapshots on hyper-V but wondering whether that is OTT... I think you need solus 3.6 for the discover update And yes I always backup with sqlbackupandftp before any upgrades. Infact I do that each night anyway just in case.
Rawns Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Re-discover backup, use the specific Discover backup tool. It backs up all custom data graphs and groups users have created in Discover. If you ever need to restore Discover, install a new discover system, do a data transfer from SIMS .net to Discover, then restore the backup with the discover backup utility.
