[sims] Marksheet Default Value

Is it possible to set a default value in a Marksheet? We have 5 levels for subjects and I would like the default 'Higher' to appear on all marksheets.

Do you mean a default value in an aspect? If so, I'm afraid there's no way of setting a default value as you would in Access/SQL but there is a workaround - create a template with the aspect in it that you want to insert a default value in to, then add a marksheet for the whole school (or just the year groups you want to apply the default value to). Open the marksheet and hit "Export", then fill the cells in Excel and save the sheet (make sure no to change the file format, it must remain XML). Back in SIMS, go to "Routines > Data In > Assessment > Import from Spreadsheet" and open the XML sheet you just saved; hey presto, value populated!

 

Not as easy as choosing a default value but once you've done it a couple of times, it's not too bad. The downside is, any new students won't have the field populated, so you'll have to add them manually (or repeat the above process)

Another way is to make up the template as before, enter the value in the first cell, right click and copy the value then put the cursor in the top of the column and right click and paste the value into the column.

If Higher is a grade then you can use the option to select grade for column.
