Cost effective large screen TV with VGA input

Hi,

 

We are looking for a large screen tv (approx 46") with a VGA input but are struggling to find anything suitable that does not cost the earth.

Does anyone know of a brand/model at all?

Not many main brands have PC input on budget models. You could buy an HDMI-VGA adaptor VGA to HDMI Convertor with Audio Support : HDMI Switches : Maplin Electronics (You could probably find one cheaper than Maplin.)

 

Then you could get a basic 50inch Panasonic plasma for £400 (inc Vat)...

what do you classify as cost effective? do you have a budget?

Does it have to be a TV as well? If you just need it for the VGA then I've got some 40"+ Samsung Display Screens with VGA for sub £150

What source are you using? If your using a PC you could drop in a graphics card with a HDMI output or if you don't need the TV function, then Daves suggestion of using a large monitor may be better and cheaper.

The screen will be used in a meeting room in our school

VGA is required for hooking up laptops for said meetings and we also need an hdmi input for an Apple TV and the ability to play videos from a USB stick would be good too.

Cost wise i was hoping for around 500 max so the Cello TV Cache suggested could be perfect for what we need.

It does need to be idiot proof as its used by teachers and management (dangerous I know)
