2008R2 Domain controllers upgrade question

Afternoon all,

I need to upgrade my domain controllers from 2008R2 to 2012R2 and although I have read up on it and watched many Youtube videos which show it as quite easy, am still a little unconfident in the process as I have never really upgraded a DC before. Would anyone out there either have pointers on it or is it really as easy as it seems?

Haven't done this myself, however people talk about upgrading their DCs in this thread.
