Migrating Exchange 2003 to new hardware.....

Im planning to move my exchange over to some better hardware. Can I get away with installing exchange on the new server, moving the mailboxes over and the using an alias of the old server name so I dont have to reconfigure clients? Obviously getting rid of DNS records of the original?

Any thoughts as Im just compiling a job list and Im trying to guage how long stuff is going to take.

Thats because its an entirely different search. You'll get lots of unhelpful articles about migrating from Exchange 2000 with that.
