gmonks Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Hi, Got a problem here with WSUS. I have WSUS set up on a Server 2012 R2 Virtual Machine. I've downloaded all the updates and approved and disapproved the certain updates I want. However, I cannot get any machines to show in WSUS for me to approve them. I have a GPO that doesn't seem to be working but I also have the following batch file that doesn't seem to work either. This batch file also used to work for the old WSUS server. Batch file is written like this: @echo offTITLE Logistix WSUS Reset Authorisation Echo Save the batch file "AU_Clean_SID.cmd". This batch file will do the following: Echo 1. Stops the wuauserv service Echo 2. Deletes the AccountDomainSid registry key (if it exists) Echo 3. Deletes the PingID registry key (if it exists) Echo 4. Deletes the SusClientId registry key (if it exists) Echo 5. Restarts the wuauserv service Echo 6. Resets the Authorization Cookie Echo 6. More information on PatchAholic...The WSUS Blog! Pause @echo on net stop wuauserv REG DELETE "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate" /v AccountDomainSid /f REG DELETE "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate" /v PingID /f REG DELETE "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate" /v SusClientId /f net start wuauserv wuauclt /resetauthorization /detectnow Pause Any ideas would be much appreciated. Cheers George.
3s-gtech Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Okay, so your batch file is used to reset WSUS authorisation after imaging to prevent duplicate IDs - it won't help if no machines are showing but without it only the one machine from each image will show. Do your WSUS GPO in your RSOP? What are your exact GP settings - can you show a (edited) screenshot so we can cross check?

Okay thanks, that's the batch file I always used to use when I couldn't get a machine to connect. The WSUS GPO doesn't show in RSOP. I have taken a screenshot and will post it below. The GPO is exactly the same as the one I used on the old server, only changed the server name. What client OS is it? 95% Windows 7. 5% Windows XP.
computer_expert Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I seem to think that WSUS on server 2012+ uses port 8530 as the default now, so try http://wsus:8530 instead of http://wsus 2
