TASC Insight: Forums for Parents?

Morning all

 

We have used TASC Software's Insight product for some time, however our SLT have awoken to some of the features we have not enabled.

 

Does anyone have experience of using the Forum facility for parents to discuss school matters?

 

I'm somewhat aware that these things can become a platform for parents to bash us with!

Involving parents has to be good however if your not good at keeping accurate records you will suffer. Missing registers is the most obvious!

We've already been there as Parents have had access via Insight for a few years, the Insight portal shows Attendance (live) Behaviour and achievement..

 

The only new consideration is an actual Parents forum where they can post discussion and comments on threads (much like this forum)

I will see if I can find some contacts for you Steve ... the way many Schools look at this is if a parent has an issue, then contact the School directly and arrange a meeting; not argue over a forum. Would have to be managed well certainly; though that would mean more work for you. :/

I know where you are coming from and I'm not offering to moderate it, personally I'm not up for giving people a stick to beat us with!

Any "issues" should certainly be reported direct to school, not via a discussion group!
