Hi,

Has anyone got any information on how to migrate SIMS from the local authority hosted solution to one that we run on servers in school, or any experience in doing it? It'll help with the removal of the extra login through Citrix, as well as having local control.

Thanks.

You could get everything installed locally on your SIMS server before hand (MS SQL, File Server, DMS etc) and get SIMS .net and FMS installed on your workstations. Then once you get the DB and DocStorage off the LA, it's simply a case of attaching the databases and moving the DocSotrage folder. You'll need a up to date setups folder to do this.

That's what I was thinking of doing; setting everything up first, giving a detach and attach of the DB from the LA to local and seeing how it ran. I would just like some formal documentation so that I don't fall into any issues further down the line. We only moves to SIMS in September!
