pete Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 We usually use wordpad for exams. We've had a not unreasonable request for a word count function in a particular exam. I suspect (but am still confirming) that the Word Count functionality depends on the spelling & grammar components, but I may be wrong. Does anyone know off the top of their head if that's the case? cheers
pete Posted November 4, 2013 Author Posted November 4, 2013 To answer my own question, no it doesn't depend on the spell-checker. However, if you use the brute-force disable method (rename .dll and the Proofing folder) it bleats 3-4 times with an "OK" dialogue before giving you a word count. If you use control IDs to disable the functions, it doesn't bleat and works as intended. 1
