I have just installed a New Server 2012 R2 network running Win 7 Pro managed via GPO's with Folder redirection.

All was working fine and then for some reason all the clients gave User Profile Errors saying that the profile can't be loaded.

Upon checking the event viewer it showed an attempt to copy the profile from the c:\users\default to c:\users\username and filed saying access denied.

Why!?

I checked the permissions on the c:\users and it said Administrators & System full control, users & everyone read. Having checked this on a standard win 7 client and after googling, these are the correct permissions.

The only way I could fix it was via GPP to reset the permissions on c:\users to everyone has full control but I don't understand why it didn't work when the original permissions are correct.

Could it be a setting in the GPO or just one of those things!?

Thanks

James
