Server 2012 Print Spooler Service

Hi, I am having some trouble with our new server 2012 dc. I have installed printers on the server but when i go to test the printers the print spooler service turns off.

 

I have never seen this before has anyone run into it ?

Are you using known good drivers for 2012?

 

If you remove all of the printers & drivers and add them one at a time you may find that one of them is causing your problem.

 

You may also wish to look at Driver Isolation to stop it killing the spooler completely though I suspect the issue is the driver that should be sorted out.

We had this issue on Server 2003 and it was indeed caused by a faulty driver. On that server, it got bad very quickly and stopped all printing very quickly.
