apeo Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I'm having an odd problem with Backup Exec 10. I installed the Remote agent on a Windows 2003 Server and managed to do a full backup. Its not been able to backup the remote server since giving the following error: Backup- SERVER Directory was not found, or could not be accessed. None of the files or subdirectories contained within will be backed up. Directory was not found, or could not be accessed. None of the files or subdirectories contained within will be backed up. Directory was not found, or could not be accessed. None of the files or subdirectories contained within will be backed up. Directory was not found, or could not be accessed. None of the files or subdirectories contained within will be backed up. Ive looked it up on the Symantec site, searching V-79-57344-33967 and none of the solutions apply. Ive done a test run and that comes out successful. Any idea?
localzuk Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I don't know if you've seen this but I'll post it anyway: http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/261831.htm
apeo Posted September 20, 2007 Author Posted September 20, 2007 Thanks for the reply and yes ive seen that one already. I dont even use AOFO and the error it mentions is not in the log. Im completely stumped as it not giving any errors i can chase up.
apeo Posted September 20, 2007 Author Posted September 20, 2007 Ok just to add to the madness, I've tested backing up the System State and that works quite happily. It only screws up when i try to backup files from the server.
DMcCoy Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Have you configured a username and password for the backup server to connect to the remote machine with? Network -> Logon Accounts. Also check the credentials section on the backup selecton list for the job
apeo Posted September 20, 2007 Author Posted September 20, 2007 Yup the username and password is set. It works perfectly fine when doing a test run but not when you do an actual backup. If its a problem with the login account would it not have a problem backing up the System State? EDIT: Ive also tried it with a different account with no joy.
DMcCoy Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 And the user has permissions on the files too? Just checking
apeo Posted September 20, 2007 Author Posted September 20, 2007 Nah just a restricted user account from an xp home machine
