Matrix decodes as Mark says -

Apparently this page is not available, but sensible use of google's caching facility gives -

Now the clue states "Security counts but how many times?" which I figured must be a reference to the number of instances of the word "security on the page (URL). But either I am not counting right or I am just wrong...

Oh, and why does the safe say "ECC200" and "ASCII" - does this mean a text answer is required?

Thoughts anyone?

I count thirteen instances (using CTRL+F) of ''security'' in text, plus 1 in text in a side-box, and 2 instances in picture form. So somewhere between 13 and 16. Have tried all these in number and letter form with no luck. The answerbox has space for 17 digits....ie 2 8-bit words and a space, but converting 1 - 3 to binary gives 00110001 00110011 which doesnt work.... neither for 14,15,16 conversions etc. I looked into converting to ECC200 in a 16x16 matrix but can't see how this data is useful, the matrix for 13 is wildly different (covering the whole 256 squares) than the one for 14, so I can't see it working.

Kinda stumped now

I'll leave the counting to you, but I suggest you loose the space...

The ASCII on the safe is slightly misleading, stick with binary!

BTW I've completed all four puzzles now, so just ask if you want any more hints...

Sadly I quite enjoyed it... he he

On the contrary, I would say inferior intellect...

Helping people find the answers is one thing, but just giving them out..!?!?

I wonder how long it took you to collate the answers with all that searching on the net - you can't possibly have worked them out for yourself, otherwise you would have put the solutions...

You arse!

I find what you said offensive and have reported you.

The initial post is looking for answers. The person requesting them in the original post as they could not solve the puzzle and they themselves are looking for the answer. So in essence you are saying that anyone who replied on this thread with an answer is an arse. Calling posters an arse is very offensive!

Well I apologise if I have offended you.

But you surely agree that simply posting answers is not "educational", and that providing solutions and/or simple guidance would be more in line with the ethos of this board?

I don't imagine its called "The Educational IT Professionals'Life Line" for nothing...

well i've got the interesting bit of the clue, but don't know what to do with it. I guess it might need cyphering
