error- Java Installer \jre1.7.0_45-C.msi is corrupt

I keep getting this message every time I try to install Java. Can someone help. I've attached a pix of the error message.

Do you get the same error message when you install Java using either of the installers below?

 

32-bit: javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=81819

64-bit: javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=81821

I get the error message after I download the java from Download Free Java Software and then after it finished installing. I dont know if that is 32 or 64 bit.

Try the 32-bit link above. It's for the offline installer (~27.7MB).

 

The one you are downloading uses a web-based installer so that's probably why it's not working very well.

I've had update 40 not uninstalling. I had to delete a reg key so it would uninstall.

Make sure you run chkdsk on the C: drive...

 

 

• open the Command Prompt as Administrator (Tutorial)
  
• type the command:
  

  chkdsk /f /x C:

  
  When it ask if you want to do a scan on next restart answer Yes
  

• restart the computer
  

 

Try to install using the Off-line installer like Arthur suggested, that one will not install the Ask Toolbar junk.
