Migrating mailboxes from exchange

Hi All

 

I have been asked to get rid of an ageing exchange 2003 server and the school would like to migrate to LGfL staffmail. As we have quite a number of mailboxes I was wondering if anyone knows a soultion to migrating the mailboxes to a PST file in bulk rather than have to do individually and create PST then import it back in outlook to the new lgfl account. (do-able but so long winded) Atomwide have said they do not have a migration tool :-(

 

Does anyone know a quick way round this or will I have to just do this manually.

You can create the PST Files in Bulk using ExMerg as you are using Exchange 2003.

 

Download Microsoft Exchange Server Mailbox Merge Wizard (ExMerge) from Official Microsoft Download Center

 

Once you have all of the PST Files Exported, You can then look at importing them... this will be manual unless LGfL are able to import them for you...

I had a few issues when trying to export mailboxes but that was because I failed to reboot after making changes to permissions etc. I was reading somewhere that there is a limit in exmerge of 2GB per mailbox? is this true as I have a few over this size.

Also can exmerge the public folders? if not what can I use to export these to pst file.

2GB limit and you can't use for PF. Depending on the size of PF you may just want to do via OLK. Get a report then make decision.

 

Any reason why you're not going direct to O365?
