Customise windows 8 store apps in image

I know theres a long thread about this already, but with winsows 8.1 almost here, is there a way yet to prepare an image that has a whole bunch of windows 8 apps pre-installed that can be available for every user?

i think apps are all per user installs

As Sted said, they are per user but also with a limitation of up to 5 different devices for that user. Windows 8.1 raises this limitation to 81.

 

If you even manage to locate / download the .appx files you want to include (directly from the publisher), you can import with a powershell command.

I haven't tried this so i'm not sure what the outcome is likely to be but just a suggestion. Can you not download the app on one PC/tablet and then take the appx files or files that are generated and resign these with the MS tool and deploy it out to stations using the provision apps powershell command? The certificate can be generated from your CA?

dont think so as the installed files are not the same as the installer and it iirc is linked to a live id anyway

Thats good to know that 8.1 increases the limit of per-ID devices. We currently have labs of 25 win8 devices, using them as single-user and trying to find a way to manage the apps with a single account is proving troublesome. Might have to upgrade to 8.1 with haste
