Hi all,

I have a problem with deploying an application through Group Policy. I have set up the policy as I would normally do. Gone to a client machine to boot up, I can see on the startup screen for xp that it is 'Installing Managed Software' and then goes onto installing the application.

However when I log in as administrator on that PC (or any others) the application I wanted to add is not appearing on the Desktop, Start Menu, nor can I see it in Program Files.

Very confusing, and the exact same thing happened yesterday with a completely different application.

Can anyone shed any light on this? It's more than likely something that I'm doing wrong, however I'm setting up the policy as I always have (when it's worked) so thats whats got me stumped.

Thank you

Tom

check the event log at a guess the installer is failing to do something (say cant access the shared drive its on or need dot net 4)

Thank you for your reply.

I can see 6 errors in the event log. Most of which are saying 'A Component or Manifest could not be activated.'

I changed the path on the Group Policy, and moved the MSI to another shared drive, This has seemed to fix the problem. Cannot understand why it has suddenly not liked the path we normally use for .MSI installs. Oh Well, Problem Solved.

Thank you!
