Hi , Not sure if this is the correct place to post.

We have been running the MIDYIS/ALLIS online tests and to make things easier esp for the year 7's we have been logging the machines on for them before they enter the room, it saves them having to remember their names or passwords. We run Viglen Remote Learning, however there does not seem to be a way to log all machines on a particular suite automatticaly (obvoiusly I would have to switch them all on in the first place). I was wondering how other people would go about it or should I stop being lazy and just walk around the ICT suites and log them on, one at a time?

Thanks

Personally, I'd just make them log in themselves (that's what our 7s who are currently sitting the test did). Have a PC logged in as yourself with your user manager open so you can quickly change passwords if need be, but otherwise have them use their own usernames. Automated logon scripts so the little cherubs don't have to remember which pet rabbit's name they used for a password seems like overkill to me.

Netsupport school could do that for you in a second, although you'd have to manually have to tell it to log them on using X username and Y password.

Alternatively make a user account that only works at a very limited time (when the classes are on) and has very tight restrictions, then set it with an easy password (pupil/pupil) etc. There's no harm in it if you restrict it and lock the times down.
