Independent network review

My business manager has been discussing with me the idea of having an external company come in to perform a review of our network to see if we can improve performance. I'm quite happy with the idea of this, however I'm looking for guidance about any companies who may offer this service?

I am asking myself who told your business manager to talk to you? Normally, my business managers even don´t know me. Well, they remember me, when "internet is down" but even then they tell their secretaries to write an email to me with CC to my boss...

So, is your network "bad"? What about performance? Do you have problems? What switches do you have? Would you like to redesign your network?

Many it teams are managed through the business managers in schools. On the note of new design or health check, try @StoneComputers or @Net-Ctrl or @CPLTD

We use PC World Birmingham. The guys there are top notch, although I can't comment on other business branches.

 

When I worked in facilities management, we were often asked to go and do machine audits and the large AIX servers fell to me. Writing a report pointing out better ideas for systems administration was not the easiest thing to do, nor was having to tell sysadmins they needed to make changes to their beloved methods.
