AB Tutor v7.26 Problems

We have deployed AB Tutor v7.26 client using group policy to around 1300 machines, Now 20% of the machines have a "RPC server is unavailable" message and will not log onto the domain.

 

After emailing AB Tutor I received a reply saying that they have never had this problem before and pointed me to a Microsoft site. Has anyone else had the same problems with AB Tutor?

What AV are you using? Do you have the windows firewall on?

We're using Sophos v10.0, Windows Firewall is switched off.

Never heard of this problem.

 

Definitely disable Sophos for a bit to see if that helps.

I have Sophos v10.2 and ABTutor 7.15 and it works fine. I *was* going to upgrade to 7.26 but maybe I'll just do one trolley load of laptops and see how it goes... Sorry, I know that doesn't help you much right now, but I'll let you know how I get on.

7.26 gave around 25% of our PC's a 127. loopback proxy address. Had to contact them and get a beta exe to fix the problem.

Got that version here and no problems, we also run Sophos v10

We've deployed 7.26 to a few rooms. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the internet blocking exceptions. e.g block all internet except intranet.someorg.org.uk . Though we tested the beta and it works in that. We won't deploy the beta until its ready. I just hope theres no problems other than that with the 7.26 release. We are also using Sophos 10. @waltflanagan do you specify your proxy in inetcpl.cpl or is it a wpd file?
