speckytecky Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I have a Lenovo M92Z All in one PC running Windows 7 64 bit which is refusing to log on normally. Eventually a message pops up saying: An attempt was made to logon, but the network logon service was not started. I have logged on in Safe Mode but the darned thing boots up then hangs with just the mouse live. Probably something obvious but I've defo got my Monday morning head on!!
speckytecky Posted October 7, 2013 Author Posted October 7, 2013 An update. Darned thing won't go to a restore point or repair. I'm pretty sure this is all related to the American Megatrends MB and settings re network on it but for the life of me I cant fathom where the settings live. The MB is supervisor password protected. The Network port is lit ok but when I log on Local it's unable to ping etc despite the proxy settings being ok.

speckytecky Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 Thankfully now resolved. Running a winsock reset did the trick. [tip] Reset WinSock via Command Prompt with XP SP2
