bodminman Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Hi there, I have a Samsung RF711 (RF711-S08UK) and a few weeks ago my car was broken into and the buggers stole my laptop bag from the boot. Fortunately my laptop wasn't I the bag so all they got was the PSU and the recovery disks. Now, I need to wipe my machine and now don't have the recovers DVD's. Does anyone by any chance have any disks for this laptop that you would kindly loan to me? Many thanks

Did you catch the b^ggers? Shop said contact Samsung too I have just sent them a message! I reported it to the police and so far haven't heard a thing.

Arthur Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Does anyone by any chance have any discs for this laptop? Did it come with Windows 7? If so, you can download the relevant disc from here. If you can you still boot into Windows, it might be worth backing up your drivers and activation info before wiping everything too. 2
bodminman Posted October 5, 2013 Author Posted October 5, 2013 Hi guys, The reason for needing the recovery CD is that the HDD had completely died. There is no life in it what so ever! The laptop originally came with W7 Home Premium and was immediately wiped to have it dual booting to Win8 and Solus because I was mainly using it for work purposes. I have a new HDD on it's way and now that I have a new work laptop, I'm happy to return it to it's original state. Thanks

bodminman Posted October 5, 2013 Author Posted October 5, 2013 I have just received a call from a Samsung chap from somewhere far away and they said that as I registered the machine when I purchased it then they are happy to send me a replacement CD free of charge to the registered address and that I should receive it within the next 7 days. 1
