Hello,

We have SCCM 2012 which works fine for our desktops but when i try to build new laptops (lenovo G580 - 2189) i keep getting 'Fail to run task sequence' which is driving me mad. Any help to why this keeps happening would be great

thanks in advance Lee

Enable the F8 command support in your boot image,so that we can do some diagnostics and grab the log files that SCCM generates on the client as its building. Where in the Task Sequence does it fail? What else is in it?

I'm getting the same error, I've got 30 Toshiba laptops, 25 of them image correctly with the task sequence but 5 bring up the "failed to run task sequence error" Annoying thing is that they are the exact same model of laptop, we bought 30 of them at the same time.

Has anyone come across this before?

Have you checked the time and date in the BIOS? I have found this has been the problem in the past with computers that are exactly the same but some won't build.

Your best bet is to do what 'TheScarfedOne' suggested and look at the logs on the machine that fails using F8.... you'll find lots of useful details in the logs.

I checked the time and date, they were correct. I removed the device from sccm and re-imported the computer information and it seemed to work on a couple of them that I tested.
