Took our eldest here yesterday as a birthday treat and had a wail of a time (extreme weather on the M62 on our return not withstanding!), especially as they have updated much of the exhibits since our last visit a few years back (bye-bye CRT displays!).

Anyway, I'm just letting those of you who live in the region and have kids know that if you book tickets online they will upgrade these to an annual pass for free at the moment as long as you gift-aid the purchase, so we now have free access until September next year. Considering it's £43 for us all to visit it's quite an offer

My only gripe is that the parking is very expensive at £6 for 4 hours+ (£4 for up to 4 hours which isn't enough for a 'real' visit). That said, the cafe is amazing and the food quality was superb with big portion all round

Its very good, went a few years ago with a friends little lad. I enjoyed it as much as him! We are lucky we can get the train from ours.

£6 for 4+ hours parking is cheap compared to some car parks where I live! The most expensive Ive been too was a tenner for four hours!

We went out for an afternoon with friends and parked for about 6 hours in Norwich cost £25

We went when I was a nipper, most amazing hand on museum, was great fun

I used to work there! The best bit was being Scoot the robot in his shed and watching all the parents trying to figure out how you could see them. :-)
