Email services

Hi, not sure if this is the right area to post but here goes...

What email service do people prefer?

We use RM Easymail Plus at the moment but its so slow and annoying. We have our own domain so we could easily move it but we need to use web based mail rather than desktop based mail.

 

Any preferences?

Office 365 email all the way!

 

Our schools will have a choice going forward Easymail+ or Office 365 .... I know what I would choose everytime

These days there are precious few good reasons to use anything other than Office 365 or Google Apps. Both are provided free of charge for schools.

 

Office 365 has a more seamless integration into an existing Windows network, but Google Apps has better content filtering if you have pupil email and need to monitor it for language.

 

FWIW, we currently use Google Apps for pupil email, and an on-premises Exchange 2010 for staff - but I am planning to move staff to Office 365 later this year. I would only recommend on-premises email these days for people who are particularly concerned about the NSA reading their school's email.

Its a pretty easy setup to be honest.

 

Office 365 here as well.

I do know what you mean, all the guides I've seen manage to make it look more complicated than it actually is (Microsoft documentation in particular is famous for this).

 

My advice is to just crack on and start - until you change your MX records nothing changes with mail delivery, so you can begin working on the setup pretty much risk-free immediately.
