[sims] Sims Installation Problem - error 0

Hello there,

I recently installed Sims on a client computer in my network.I get error 0 when a user tries to connect/Enter Sims.

Let me explain you the situation:

Our school network Is composed of two sub networks. The ADMIN network and the LAB network. The sims server resides in the ADMIN network. All of our computers in the ADMIN network can access sims with the current CONNECT.INI file. My target is to allow clients from the LAB network access sims.

Probably it is important to mension that 2 different domains exist.One in each network (Admin / Lab)

We recently installed a new firewall that allows communication from the one network to the other.

The client computer I am working on belongs to the LAB network and communicates with the administrator server( the server we have sims ). I can do a remote desktop from the client computer to the ADMIN Server.I can access sims files from my client. I manage to install sims on my client computer.I set the right paths for the sims folders during the installation,I got the message workstation upgrade the first time I run sims. Once it finished I got the login screen.When I enter my username and password I get the error 0. I think is something to do with the connect.ini file. We use the connect.ini with client computers in the Adminisrtator network and it works ok.

 

 

My connect.ini contains:

[sIMSConnection]

ServerName=ADMIN-SERVER\SIMS2008

DatabaseName=sims_paphos

 

Any idea of what might cause the problem?

Assuming that the details in the connect.ini are correct. try the Ip in the address in place of the server name.
